High Risk Medication Monitoring

Certain medications require more frequent and in-depth monitoring. These include DMARDs (disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs) such as Methotrexate and Lithium.

Patients who take these medications must have up to date blood tests recorded in their notes. If these bloods are taken off site or at a location that we don’t have access to, these results must be manually uploaded onto our clinical system and must be provided by the patient.

If you do not engage with having your blood monitored whilst taking one of these high-risk drugs, it will impact your ability to order medication and continued non-engagement may result in the medication being stopped.
